Philadelphia Eagles have no choice but to start Sam Bradford

Philadelphia Eagles head coach took a major risk when he traded for injury prone quarterback Sam Bradford. But if Kelly and the Eagles want to win a Super Bowl anytime soon, starting Bradford may be their only choice. The team has a “glass ceiling” of sorts with Mark Sanchez running the offense. That isn’t the case if Bradford is piloting Kelly’s uptempo offense considering his accuracy, arm strength and ability to get the ball out quickly. All that and more in this morning’s serving of Bacon, Eggs and Eagles!

"This week, I have been taking a look at each quarterback on the Eagles roster, from the top (Sam Bradford) to the bottom (Tim Tebow). What did I discover? In a league built around quarterbacks, the Eagles don’t have any great options.Bradford has been a bust as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Mark Sanchez turns the ball over too much. Matt Barkley has no starting experience. Tebow hasn’t been in the league for the past two years and is far too inconsistent."

Who is Chip Kelly?Jeff McLane of Philly.com

"To know what constitutes a “Chip Kelly player” is to know why Chip Kelly doesn’t want to be known. After more than two years as the Eagles coach, few – if any – have been able to penetrate a wall built around family, friends, and colleagues who have been protective of Kelly’s privacy. Many have tried, to no avail, although a Washington Post story last week revealed that Kelly, thought to be a bachelor, was in fact once married for seven years."

Murray, Peters Among Madden’s BestChris McPherson of PhiladelphiaEagles.com

"One month from today, Madden NFL 16 will be available and two of the Eagles’ offensive stars are rated among the best in the game.DeMarco Murray, the NFL’s rushing champion who signed with the Eagles in free agency, is the No. 4 running back with a rating of 94 overall. He’ll be tough to bring down with a 97 juke move and 95 elusive. Once he gets space in the Eagles’ offense, he has 89 speed, 91 acceleration and 98 agility."

Chip’s gambleLes Bowen of Philly.com

"As Eagles fans count down the months, weeks and now days until the Aug. 2 start of training camp, they are eager to know exactly what to make of Chip Kelly’s turbulent, transformative offseason. No one has sensed this eagerness more acutely than your intrepid beat writer, who almost daily has fielded questions — walking into the dry cleaner, buying mulch at the hardware store or sitting on the exam table at the doctor’s office. (“Turn your head, cough, and explain the LeSean McCoy trade, please.”)"

Nick Foles couldn’t handle pressure from Eagles’ fans; can Sam Bradford?Eliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com

"It’s no secret that the Eagles are looking for a franchise quarterback. At times, Nick Foles looked to be that guy, as he led the Eagles to the 2013 NFC East championship, and went 15-10 in two seasons with head coach Chip Kelly.Off the field, however, it appears that Foles might not have been ready for the spotlight of Philadelphia — and that could be why he is in St. Louis."

It’s nice to see Eagles defensive end Vinny Curry working hard during the offseason and apparently plenty of people are watching, ha!
