It figures to be a phenomenal week. Another Super Bowl approaches. The Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC's representative. Citizens of the great city of New Orleans had better beware.
The NFC Championship Game was a celebration, a four-quarter homage to Birds fans young and old. Eagles legends were all over the place.
55 points doubles as a Championship Game record. There were tense moments, but rarely was the game in doubt.
We've seen 17 wins by the Birds this season. One more will give them the right to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Oh, and there's a chance that fate, or karma, or destiny, or whatever you want to call it might be on the side of the guys in green.
Saquon Barkley and Cooper DeJean both share birthdays (and they fall on Super Bowl Sunday).
We know... We know... There's some luck involved with anything. Some of you don't believe in luck. We get it. We know you don't believe in karma if luck doesn't really speak to you.
How about an omen (the good kind). Can we call it that? No?
Well, here's something we can agree upon. We certainly don't believe in a jinx (unless it works in our favor). You do realize the Rocky Statue jinx is a thing, right? You saw Philly win again after Rocky was defaced, this time with that ugly burgundy and gold.
This you'll find interesting. Saquon Barkley and Cooper DeJean share a birthday. Who knew? But, here's the cool thing. Their birthdays fall on February 9, Super Bowl Sunday.
We don't know what that means. We know it doesn't guarantee Philly a win, but we knew all week that Philly would beat the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship Game after Nick Foles was named an honorary captain. Heck... Maybe there are good omens and bad ones.
Philly qualified for the Super Bowl on the fifth anniversary of superfan Kobe Bryant's passing. We'll park all of this and revisit it on another day.
However we paint this picture moving forward, we stand behind our theory. This is cool as heck, and we think it's a cool story as we look ahead to Super Bowl Sunday.
