9) Major Wright, Chicago Bears Safety

While Chicago Bears safety Major Wright lacks ideal height to satisfy Eagles fans (5’11, 205 pounds) looking for a presence at safety, he plays the kind of physical football that was promised when Patrick Chung signed a three-year deal with the Eagles last season. Wright has similar concerns to Chung in terms of coverage abilities, but in four years Wright has 220 tackles, nine interceptions and three touchdowns. One reason to be weary is that without a sure threat at cornerback to take pressure off of him like he had with Charles Tillman in Chicago, he doesn’t solve the threat of a big play. Regardless of the direction the Eagles go with safety in free agency, unless they do end up putting a big contract aside for the top two names it’s likely an early draft pick will be used to compliment them. It’s time for the front office to cleanse the ghost of Brian Dawkins once and for all.
