Dave:
The Dallas Cowboys are in a heap of trouble due to a salary cap situation that has the future of dominant defender DeMarcus Ware in jeopardy. While it wouldn’t hurt the team to look at C.J. Mosley here, Dallas takes the opportunity to bolster their secondary and break the hearts of Eagles fans by selecting Louisville safety Calvin Pryor. A hard-hitter, Pryor delivers a mean right hook and excels in run support.
Giorgos:
Calvin Pryor had been gaining so much steam that he ended up being projected as the first safety taken off the board. That was until the scouting combine. After measuring at 5′ 11″, Pryor’s stock made a gentle dive. What stands out when watching Pryor is his tenacity and the ability to recognize what is coming. The problem is in the rare occasion when he makes a wrong guess – his aggressiveness drives him away from the play. I don’t think Pryor is a value pick here, but Jerry Jones knows best.
