Dave:
Geno Smith can’t succeed as an NFL quarterback without capable receivers to throw to, and the Jets are in a great position to add talent like LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. with the eighteenth pick. Beckham is a recipient of the 2013 Paul Hornung Award, given annually to college football’s biggest all-around threat. With all the trouble the Jets have had finding players who can create big plays, Beckham is a welcome addition.

Giorgos:
This is not a popular pick, but I love it. The New York Jets fans should be thankful if their team selects this guy. Odell Beckham Jr. is a fast, athletic wide receiver that can play both outside and in the slot. He lacks ideal height (he is 5′ 11″) and strength, but he is willing to use what he has. He is not afraid of contact and can make plays near the sideline or up the middle. Additionally, he lacks no effort in run blocking. Beckham Jr. is a tool for many jobs and Geno Smith could benefit from his presence on the field.
