Jaylen Watkins DB Florida 101st overall

Philadelphia traded one of their two 3rd round picks to the Houston Texans for this pick and a 5th round selection. The team opened up the fourth round by selecting Jaylen Watkins. Watkins is versatile, and a good press corner. He can line up almost anywhere on the field and play multiple spots. He played corner, slot corner, and safety for the Florida Gators. This gives the defense much needed depth in the secondary. Watkins has the tools to potentially be a starter one day for the Eagles. Watkins is smooth in coverage and can flip his hips with ease. He isn’t a speedster, but has enough speed and savvy to warrant this selection by the team.
