The betting line for Super Bowl XLIX is practically even. But I don’t think the lines tell the true story. Seattle escaped the Green Bay Packers with a diminished quarterback. And only just escaped. It took the Packers very poor play to keep the game close enough.

The New England Patriots on the other hand have mowed down their competition on the way to the Super Bowl. Deflated footballs or not, they have crushed the competition and are coming into this game hot. New England Patriots Tom Brady has one of the most accurate arms in the league. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will have a game plan for the Seahawks which I don’t think they will have an answer for.

I think the Patriots win this one, easy.

This will be an extremely close game. I think the Seattle defense will play extremely well and I think the Patriots offense will struggle all game. However, the Seahawks haven’t faced many good quarterbacks this season and they certainly haven’t faced a tight end like Gronk. The Eagles managed to have success with their tight ends against the Seahawks too.

I think the deciding factor will actually be New England’s defense. I can’t see the Seahawks scoring many points on them. New England’s secondary should easily shut down the Seattle passing game and I imagine the Patriots athletic linebacker Jamie Collins will do a good job at stopping Russell Wilson from picking up many yards with his legs. The Patriots run defense has ranked 2nd over the final half of the season in Football Outsiders metrics, they should do a decent job and shutting down Marshawn Lynch. I think the game will have one key turning point, probably a turnover, that will be the difference between winning and losing.
