Emmanuel Acho, Inside Linebacker

One of the biggest fan favorite Eagles player is Emmanuel Acho, but not because of his play on the field but rather he’s just a great guy. From saying all the right things, being funny on twitter, taking a girl to prom after losing a bet, or from working hard off the field, Emmanuel Acho is a good person and teammate. Even as a football player, Acho has had his moments when filling in for the injured Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans.

The problem is that the numbers don’t bode well for Acho. After the team traded running back LeSean McCoy to Buffalo for ILB Kiko Alonso, and drafted ILB Jordan Hicks in the 3rd round of this years draft, there is an official logjam at the inside linebacker position. Kendricks, Ryans, Alonso, Hicks are all locks to make the roster, this means there is little wiggle room for the team as they might keep 5 maybe 6 ILBs on the roster.

Acho will have to battle Najee Goode who played well in 2013 but missed the 2014 season due to injury, Brad Jones whom the team signed in free agency and has starting experience with the Green Bay Packers. Acho has an uphill battle to face come training camp and I’m not sure he can overcome the adversity.
