Eagles Analysis: Who failed to impress during the preseason?

Veteran Wide Receivers
One of the more disappointing aspects of the preseason was the play of the Philadelphia Eagles veteran wide receivers. Guys like Riley Cooper, Miles Austin, and Seyi Ajirotutu were expected to be leaders and help the talented young receivers on the team. Instead it has been all the young pups showing up at practice and games.
If someone who has never watched the Eagles before were to watch this years preseason games, would they even realize that Riley Cooper was even on the team. I don’t think Cooper had one catch this whole preseason, I don’t think he even got a sniff of the football. Miles Austin flashed at times, but like the story of his career, Miles sat two of the four preseason games due to injury. Seyi Ajirotutu is more known as special teams maven, but looked awful as a receiver. Seyi dropped every pass that was thrown to him this preseason and I’m not exaggerating.
The young kids like Rasheed Bailey, Quron Pratt, and Freddie Martino have all made plays but won’t make the 53 man roster. It’s unfortunate that the young and talented players will be looking for jobs when guys like Riley Cooper and Miles Austin will be doing their best invisible man impression.
