Third Quarter

Carolina gets the ball to start the half. Cam has thrown 2 interceptions tonight, both of which were the result of tremendous efforts by Eagles defenders, but otherwise has made some beautiful throws. Here he makes a series of those good throws, finding Ginn and then Olsen to drive deep into Eagles territory. On 2nd and goal, Cam tosses the ball to Tolbert on the sideline. Malcolm Jenkins rallies to the ball and lays a big hit on Tolbert, but he recovers and rumbles into the end zone. Maxwell made a poor attempt at Tolbert and should’ve been the one to clean up. Instead, it’s six points. 21-6, Panthers.

The Eagles offense gets going on the following drive, providing a huge play. After Bradford finds Zach Ertz to move the sticks on 3rd down, Mathews takes the 1st down carry, cutting back and hitting a massive hole to take it 63 yards to the house. Mathews has been ridiculously explosive since coming over from San Diego this offseason. 21-13, Eagles still trail.

Jordan Hicks blows up a pass on 1st down setting up a 2nd and 10. After a short run, Newton delivers the ball high for his receiver, and it’s popped up in the air. Byron Maxwell comes flying in for the acrobatic interception, and after a good return the Eagles are deep within Panthers territory. Awesome play by Maxwell.

Bradford finds Celek and Ertz on back-to-back plays to convert a first down. On 3rd and goal Bradford makes a great throw to Huff in the back of the end zone, however, the receiver can’t hang on and the Eagles are forced to settle for another field goal. 21-16.

The Eagles hold strong on the following drive, pressuring Cam and forcing him to throw it away. Great coverage, and great push. Vinny Curry was held on the play.

The Eagles takeover on their own 10. Sam Bradford finds Zach Ertz on a beautiful sideline throw. The ball was placed high where only Ertz could get it, and the tight end did a good job of high-pointing the football. After an incompletion intended for Sproles, the clock hits double zeros and were on to the 4th.
