Detroit Lions 4-7

I assure you, this isn’t an article dedicated to just the teams that have beaten the Eagles. Then again, they have been beaten by seven teams, so it’s just a numbers game.

Much like the Buccaneers, the Lions have topped the Eagles. Making the race to the post-season even tougher. The Lions may share the same record as the Eagles, but they are playing football quite a bit differently over the past three weeks.

  • Since letting go of their offensive coordinator, general manager, and every other knucklehead that has mismanaged this team, the Lions have been on a three game winning streak. One of which that started by beating the Green Bay Packers, in Lambeau. Matt Stafford has regained some of his mojo, and has reestablished relationships with Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate. There is still no consistency with their run-game, which hurts them a bit, but the defense has stepped up big time.

The main thing that the Lions have going for them right now is that they all seem to be playing for each other. The win in Lambeau sent a message to NFC North, but also to the whole conference. The Lions were a catch away from making a deep run in the playoffs last year, and not much has changed. I’d like to say I don’t believe that their run is going to fizzle out soon, but they have too much talent. On both sides of the ball.
