The Philadelphia Eagles Top Quarterback Prospects
By Todd Duvall
Ryan Fitzpatrick, New York Jets
He did have a decent season with the Jets. Here is another case of a team’s plans changing unexpectedly. Starting Jets quarterback Geno Smith had his jaw broken for running his mouth. Enter Fitzpatrick.
He wasn’t their original plan but he was a nice surprise. He completed 335 completions for a total 3,905 yards with 31 touchdowns, 15 interceptions. He finished the season with a rating of 88.0. The Eagles could make a play for him as well.
Those numbers are deceiving because he had quite an arsenal at his disposal. If the ends up with another team he’ll not have the likes of Jets receivers Chan Gailey, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker.
He’s 33 and has been with six different teams in his 11 years. Not exactly one to give a sense of stability. Not sure the Eagles need another short term fix at quarterback.
Not sure Fitzy is the fix they need.
