Sam Bradford, Philadelphia Eagles

Ok, Bradford is a contentious topic. There is no middle ground with him. He’s loved or he’s hated. But if Pederson wants to contend right now as he said in his introduction as head coach, he needs to keep Bradford. Any other quarterback will need time to gel with the team and they with him. Bradford has a rapport with the team and they seem to like him.

Pederson’s best bet is to use the franchise tag on Bradford, draft a good quarterback in the first round and him watch and learn. This will do two things for the Eagles. Bradford is good enough to lead them to the playoffs next season. And the new draftee can learn the ropes, build a rapport with the team so he can take the reigns as Bradford exits in 2017.

At the risk of repeating what you’ve read before, Bradford improved after each game last season. If he stays healthy, the Eagles could make a run for the playoffs. You may disagree but he’s at the top of the middle tier of quarterbacks in the league now and could ease to the lower part of the upper tier by end of the season.
