Philadelphia Eagles Free Agency Day One Grade

Offensive guard Brandon Brooks
Offensive linemen acquisitions are rarely sexy at the time of transaction. And even then it’s rare they get much air time. Unless of course a movie is made about your path to the pros, no offense intended to Carolina Panthers offensive lineman Michael Oher. But honestly, it’s not a glamor position and little is ever said about it.
However, the Eagles acquisition of offensive guard Brandon Brooks could be the move of the season. He’ll begin his fifth season in the pros with the Eagles this year. He can and most likely will start at right guard. He’s a big man standing 6 feet 5 and weighing 335 pounds. I’m sure Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford was fired up about this move.
He’s a work horse of a man and missed only six games out of 50. He’s a man among men and with his health, strength and durability it was wise for the Eagles to lock him down for five years.
