1) Donavan McNabb, QB Syracuse (2nd overall in ’99)

Turns out he was the right pick after all!

McNabb has clearly proven that not only was he the correct selection over Ricky Williams in the 1999 draft, but the best Eagle to ever line up behind center. The resume speaks for itself – Six Pro Bowls, five conference championship appearances and an NFC Player of the Year during his Super Bowl run of 2004.

Although he was unable to guide the team to that elusive ring, he was as much responsible for them getting so frustratingly close as anyone else. To honor his 11 seasons of lasting memories in Philly, McNabb’s jersey No. 5 was retired in 2013.
