4B) Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State

This is where the infamous running back prospect lands in my projected top 8. I’ll keep the analysis brief since the Elliott talk has become bothersome over the past month. Zeke is an incredibly talented and complete back. He has the speed, power, balance, and decisiveness to be a top-tier NFL back. Although next year’s draft has been posited as a reason to wait on a running back, and I agree, I’d still consider Zeke to be the second best option behind freak-of-nature Leonard Fournette. That’s no slight of Zeke either; he’s a tremendous prospect in his own right, as evidenced by his positioning here. I’m sure there will be griping about Elliott falling in at 4B, but that’s due to positional fungibility coupled with the potential impact/fit of 4A.
