Seventh Round (No. 251 Overall): Pearce Slater, OT, San Diego State

Think King Dunlap. Literally. Pearce Slater is an absolute monster of a human being at 6’7″ and 333 pounds. In the seventh round, every player is going to be a project. And while Slater did not excel at the combine (only 19 reps in the bench press), his size and long arms make for an intriguing prospect. He struggles with lateral quickness (surprised?) and also committed numerous holding penalties last season for the Aztecs. In terms of projects this close to Mr. Irrelevant, it’s definitely worth it to see whether Slater can be coached up in the NFL to provide quality depth along the offensive line.
