5 reasons the Philadelphia Eagles will win a Super Bowl within five years

2. They’re young
The Eagles aren’t the youngest team in the NFL. That title goes to the Los Angeles Rams. The Eagles actually rank as the 10th oldest team in the NFL (hat tip to Pats Pulpit). However, the Eagles’ cornerstone players are all either in or about to enter their prime years, which obviously plays a large role in a team’s success.
For right now, the following players could sensibly be categorized as the Eagles’ cornerstone players (keep in mind, players could be added/removed from this list via trades, free agency, etc.):
- Carson Wentz (23 years old)
- Jordan Matthews (23 years old)
- Zach Ertz (25 years old)
- Lane Johnson (26 years old)
- Jordan Hicks (24 years old)
- Mychal Kendricks (25 years old)
- Fletcher Cox (25 years old)
- Bennie Logan (26 years old)
- Vinny Curry (27 years old)
- Malcolm Jenkins (28 years old)
The average age of these players is just 25.2 years old, which is a very good age for a core group of players to build around. Considering many of these players are under contract for at least the next five years, the Eagles seem to have a good group of talent locked up for the foreseeable future.
