Interceptions

Leodis McKelvin

2015-16 Stats: 32 tackles/9 pass deflections/2 interceptions

Projected 2016-17 Stats: 50 tackles/12 pass deflections/4 interceptions

McKelvin certainly isn’t the sexy pick in terms of players the Eagles have on defense.

What McKelvin is though is a savvy veteran, a proven system fit and a productive on defense. 2015-16 saw McKelvin only play nine games and start five, so that’s been taken into account.

While playing under Schwartz in 2013 for the Buffalo Bills, McKelvin’s production was the best it had been in his career including 72 tackles, 19 pass deflections and one interception. The reason McKelvin is being mentioned over others in the secondary is because, in his past three seasons, only Malcolm Jenkins rivals McKelvin for takeaway’s in the Eagles secondary.

Given how solid the Eagles are at the back end of the secondary, it’s likely the corners will be targeted by opposing quarterbacks. Expect McKelvin to be around the ball a lot given his history and experience in this defense. Having a four interception year isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
