Eric Rowe Made Inroads Last Season

Despite being destroyed by Calvin Johnson in Detroit, Rowe started the last five games of the Eagles season and did a solid job. During that stretch, he faced Sammy Watkins, Larry Fitzgerald, DeSean Jackson and Odell Beckham, and neither of those players recorded a 100 yard game.

Rowe was targeted a total of 58 times as a rookie and only allowed 51.7% of those targets to be caught. That was good for 12th best in the NFL.  Opposing quarterbacks had a QB rating of 80.3 when targeting Rowe in 2015 which ranked him 26th league wide of 118 cornerbacks last season.

The numbers don’t lie, in a secondary that was targeted heavily throughout the year, Rowe stood up to the challenge of starting his rookie year and did a solid job. For Eagles fans, it should be an encouraging sign moving forward to see Rowe starting more often.
