Right Tackle

  1. Lane Johnson
  2. Dennis Kelly

Lane Johnson has become a stud for the Eagles. Johnson signed a six-year contract extension worth $63 million early in the offseason and it was warranted. Johnson has clearly earned his spot at right tackle for the Eagles and will eventually move to left tackle when Jason Peters inevitably calls it quits. Johnson is the unquestioned starter at right tackle and that will not change any time soon.

Behind Johnson will be Dennis Kelly (no relation to Chip Kelly), who also received a contract extension this offseason. Kelly has only started 15 games for the Eagles going into his fifth season with the team, but at 6’8″, 321 pounds, Kelly brings a reliable, gigantic presence to the Eagles’ offensive line.

Also in the running for a backup tackle job is fifth-round rookie Halapoulivaati Vaitai out of Oregon State, but he may be nothing more than a practice squad candidate for right now.
