Middle Linebacker

  1. Jordan Hicks
  2. Najee Goode

Jordan Hicks is now the leader of the Eagles’ linebacker corps.

Hicks is undoubtedly one of the Eagles’ key players on defense thanks to his anticipation and football IQ. Before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury last season, Hicks was very much in the running for the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Award. Hicks did have his fair share of missed tackles in 2015, however, and as a middle linebacker, he will need to cut down on the missed opportunities and be the anchor of the Eagles’ defense. But despite this small issue, which may have come with his inexperience as a rookie, Hicks is a game-changing player when he’s healthy.

Behind Hicks will be Najee Goode, who brings a solid veteran presence to the table along with some Goode (ba dum tss) versatility. Goode can play any linebacker position and, quite frankly, may be the No. 1 backup plan in case any of the Eagles’ starting linebackers get hurt.
