Philadelphia Eagles projected 2016 preseason two-deep depth chart

Tight End
The Eagles didn’t sign Zach Ertz to a five-year, $42 million contract extension this offseason for nothing. Ertz has steadily improved with each passing year of his NFL career and will be the Eagles’ No. 1 tight end in 2016.
Like Ertz, Brent Celek also got a contract extension this offseason. While Celek is getting up there in age (31), he still has a lot of good football left in him—just not as a pass catcher. Celek is one of the best blocking tight ends in the NFL and the Eagles realize that. With Ertz working the middle of the field and Celek providing more pass protection for Sam Bradford, the Eagles should have a good balance at tight end in 2016.
Doug Pederson used a lot of two tight end sets with the Kansas City Chiefs last season. If that continues with the Eagles, the loser of the fullback battle may have an opportunity to contribute at tight end.
