Eagles Defense / Special Teams

This may come as a surprise to some who saw just how dreadfully bad the Eagles defense was last season, but this defense is going to reach new heights with Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator.

The Eagles have made the switch to a 4-3 defense this offseason, giving players like Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry and Brandon Graham more freedom to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks.

While the Eagles’ depth at linebacker is concerning, the group’s starters are solid. If Jordan Hicks can stay healthy and Mychal Kendricks can find some consistency, the Eagles’ front seven could be terrifyingly good. Pair that front seven with what could be the best safety tandem in the NFL and the Eagles may have themselves a potential top 10 defense.

Though the Eagles made a coaching change this offseason, Dave Fipp remains the team’s special teams coordinator. Philadelphia’s special teams has been top-notch since Fipp joined the team in 2013 and that likely will not change this year.
