The Defense

Defenses should get a lot of praise whenever there’s a shutout, but to see a shut out and multiple turnovers? Bravo Jim Schwartz. The Eagles have looked impressive on defense two weeks in a row, and they’re still improving in many areas. The secondary bent, but it didn’t break, collecting four interceptions (two in the red-zone). One was an impressive interception in the corner of end-zone by Aaron Grymes. The first team continued to looks dominant, and the reserves played their hearts out as well.

Jaylen Watkins made multiple stops and collected an interception. Interior linemen Destiny Vaeao and Aziz Shittu both recorded a sack. Then there was defensive end Steven Means. He not only dominated the line. He forced an interception, blew up plays and was constantly in the QB’s face. It appears Schwartz has a ton to work with on defense.
