Both Ron Brooks and Leodis McKelvin were brought in because their familiarity with Schwartz’s defensive scheme, but so far, they’ve been average at best. Opposing offenses have enjoyed multiple first downs and big plays the last two weeks.

McKelvin gave up a big touchdown last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and, so far, has been the only Eagles DB to do so during this pre-season. In fairness, McKelvin redeemed himself this week by breaking up a pass that landed in the arms of Malcolm Jenkins. That was in coverage against a reserve receiver, and it was thrown by a second-string quarterback. Take that however you want to.
