Nelson Agholor

It was Week 1 of the preseason last year. The Eagles were taking on this same Indianapolis Colts football team in Philadelphia, where Agholor made his NFL debut.

Then this happened:

Agholor was immediately hit by a massive wall of unrealistic expectations, which he wasn’t able to live up to as a rookie. Despite playing only one season in the NFL, Agholor is losing the fans’ confidence and absolutely needs a strong performance Saturday to alleviate the pressure that’s being put on him to show any signs of life.

What we’ve seen from Agholor so far this preseason isn’t even close to enough. Agholor has shown no explosiveness, mediocre route-running ability and an inability to catch the football. That all needs to change.

Agholor is virtually a lock to make the 53-man roster, but his lack of confidence is concerning and a strong performance Saturday could make all the difference.
