Predicting the Philadelphia Eagles’ statistical leaders for 2016
By Ryan Quigley
Passing yards: Carson Wentz
This is shouldn’t be even slightly surprising. Originally planned to be Wentz’s mentor, Sam Bradford has been traded to the Minnesota Vikings, so he’s out of the picture completely. Instead of Chase Daniel taking over as the starter, Wentz will be the team’s QB, which the Eagles have already announced as they prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Browns.
Daniel isn’t very happy about that, but that’s okay. This is the Carson Wentz show now.
Wentz doesn’t exactly have a terrific supporting cast around him, so his numbers may not be as great as you’d hope. However, he’ll have a solid showing as a rookie, throwing for over 3,000 yards and nearly 20 touchdowns. He will also rush(!) for over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Also don’t be surprised if Wentz misses a couple games due to injury, thanks to the Eagles’ vulnerable offensive line.
Prediction: 3,332 yards, 19 TDs, 14 INTs (Rushing: 48 attempts, 305 yards, 2 TDs)
Next: Rushing yards
