Rushing yards: Ryan Mathews

The only issue with Ryan Mathews is his inability to stay healthy. Last season, Mathews was easily the Eagles’ best rusher, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt and rushing for 6 touchdowns. Those numbers probably would have been a lot higher had it not been for the concussion he suffered against the Miami Dolphins midway through the season.

Mathews didn’t start his summer off very well after injuring his ankle while training for the season in San Diego. Fortunately, Mathews didn’t rush to get back onto the field and looked good this preseason, running the ball 10 times for an average of 6.4 yards per carry, which is very good.

The Eagles will have a committee approach with the running backs this season, but it would be surprising if Mathews doesn’t lead the pack with a fairly impressive stat line.

Prediction: 156 attempts, 805 yards, 7 TDs
