D’Onta Foreman, Texas

Texas’ long list of running backs gone pro is impressive. From Ricky Williams to Jamaal Charles to Earl Campbell, each running back left a pretty huge footprint on their alma mater. Now D’Onta Foreman can be added to that list.

In his first season as the Longhorns’ No. 1 back, Foreman ran for 2,028 yards and 15 touchdowns, falling just short of Ricky Williams’ single-season rushing record of 2,124 yards despite playing one game fewer than Williams did in his record-setting season. Like Williams, however, Foreman was awarded the Doak Walker Award this season, given to the nation’s top running back.

Foreman is a downhill runner with the ability to handle a heavy workload. Unfortunately, he does have ball security issues. He fumbled seven times in 2016. Should he be available in the middle rounds of the draft, he would make for a terrific Day 2 selection.
