Establish new deal with Jason Peters

The Eagles have asked the $11.2 million dollar colossal salary holder Jason Peters to take a pay cut. There has been no indication of an agreement being reached. Assuming Peters is capable to play an additional two years, the Eagles should find a way to keep him.

Per PFF, Peters was the fourth-best pass blocking offensive tackle in the NFL in 2016. In the event a deal cannot be reached, the Eagles should let him walk. Much of the money needed to sign new talent is tied up in Jason Peters. The team should not be held hostage working to build a Super Bowl caliber team. While you may think that will create a hole, Lane Johnson can slide over to LT and Halapoulivaati Vaitai can play at RT. Let’s not forget free agency and the options it offers to sign diverse LT’s.
