5. Being swept by the Redskins again.

As much as any Eagles fan would have an easy time listing the myriad of reasons he or she despises the Cowboys. There are other teams in the NFC East as well that the despise just as much. There’s a disdain that’s existed for this team’s rivals that existed before you and I were born, and it will remain long after you and I are gone. If you think about it, you probably get as much joy out of seeing them lose as you get out of seeing the Eagles win.

Take the Washington Redskins for instance. Any game involving them is just as intense and bitter as any game involving those guys from Dallas or the New York Giants. It seems like its been ten years since the brawl broke out at Lincoln Financial Field that ultimately got the adrenaline going and willed the Eagles to a three-point victory.

That’s the last time the Eagles earned a victory over the ‘Skins.

In each of the games that’s been held between these two longtime rivals since that week three matchup in 2014, the Redskins haven’t just beaten the Eagles. They’ve beaten them decisively. The scoreboard may not always reflect what happened on the field, but the Eagles, all of a sudden, just can’t seem to figure out the riddle that’s been their foes from Washington.

Will 2017 be the year? We’ll soon find out. They open the season with these guys again.
