Round 3 (99) Sidney Jones, cornerback, Washington

Yet again the Eagles get another steal at the corner position by drafting Jones. Jones was also a projected day one corner, but due to an injury at his pro day his stock has fallen. Jones should be available to play sometime in September, so we won’t have to wait long to see him in Eagles green.

Here’s what NFL.com had to say about the young man:

"“The Huskies’ defense is full of NFL talent, but Jones could be the highest-rated of them all. Washington made a living recruiting in the state of California, and this native was almost promoted to starter as a freshman (he started 12 of 13 games, two interceptions, seven pass break-ups). As a sophomore, league coaches named his first team all-conference after he led the Pac-12 with 14 pass break-ups in addition to picking off four passes and forcing three fumbles. While not knocking away as many passes in 2016 (six, also three interceptions), Jones was a first-team All-Pac 12 pick for the conference champions.”"
