Summary

There is no doubt that Donnel Pumphrey has the tools to be a very effective player for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is electric with the ball in his hands. He should provide big plays when he is on the field.

Unfortunately there’s another side to all of this. It appears that his clearest paths to the field are blocked by Darren Sproles. The Eagles could decide that Pumphrey is too valuable to stay on the sidelines and give him more chances. At this point, it seems unlikely, but stranger things have happened. 16 regular season games stand between Sproles retiring and Pumphrey taking over.

Pumphrey has a ton of talent, but fans may have to wait at least one more year to really see him at his full potential.
