5 Philadelphia Eagles players destined to break out in 2017
By Ryan Quigley
Jalen Mills
Taken in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Mills obviously wasn’t expected to play too big a role last season. But, surprisingly, he ended up becoming quite an important player in the Eagles’ secondary. Mills certainly showed some flashes of potential, but ultimately dealt with typical rookie struggles and was named Pro Football Focus‘ lowest-graded cornerback last season.
That shouldn’t discourage Mills supporters, though. Cornerback is one of the hardest positions to adapt to for young players. After a rollercoaster of a start, Mills started holding his own towards the end of the season. If that trend can continue in 2017, Mills could very well become a regular starter in the secondary.
