3. The Ugly:

For about a decade and a half, we witnessed boring press conferences with former Eagles head coach Andy Reid. Sure, he was a nice guy. We grew to love him, and we eventually got irritated by him. Sometimes, we don’t actually remember certain things about “Big Red” and his personality because we’ve been made to believe that he was this big teddy bear.

He was cool and all of that, but Reid played the game just as well as anybody else.

Andy Reid possessed an ability to care deeply for his players and keep them at just enough of an arm’s length that he could move on from the relationship if need be. He let fan favorite Duce Staley go. There was the time he kicked Terrell Owens out of practice. He cut Jeremiah Trotter twice, and he was part of the brain trust that allowed Brian Dawkins to leave. Reid said once that it always hurts to see those guys go, and we believe he’s sincere in saying that.

Still, cutting a guy less than two weeks after his wedding day is just cold.
