2. The Eagles find their franchise quarterback.

Love him or hate him, Donovan McNabb is the most successful quarterback, statistically, in the history of the Philadelphia Eagles. Kevin Kolb, the man who was drafted to replace him, is no longer in the NFL. Neither is Michael Vick, the man who replaced Kevin Kolb. Sure, Vick had a decent run with the Eagles, as did Nick Foles, but unfortunately, neither of those two can be described as anything more than a couple of guys who had some great individual performances. Neither were long-term answers. Foles would, however, spend some time on two other rosters before returning this past off-season to serve in a reserve role.

Throw in both Mark Sanchez, the fifth-overall selection in 2009’s NFL Draft, and Sam Bradford, the top selection a year later, and the Eagles have had their fair share of guys who were once seen as franchise quarterbacks. Thankfully, it appears some order has been established after the Eagles traded up in the 2016 draft not once, but twice, to secure the second-overall selection.

That selection gave the Eagles the right to draft Carson Wentz, and the rest is a very recent, and to this point, very brief history. Still, from what we’ve seen so far, no one’s having any buyer’s remorse over Mr. Wentz.
