Inside The Iggles: Eagles pre-training camp depth chart
The Philadelphia Eagles offense: Things are looking up, for now.
You can’t do a much better job than the Eagles did over the course of their most recent off-season in terms of improving their offense. They had a ton of holes at the end of the 2016 season, and for the most part, they’ve filled just about all of them. Here are the skill positions:
The base set:
Quarterback: This one’s easy.
- QB1: Carson Wentz (There’s no doubt about this one)
- QB2: Nick Foles
- QB3: Matt McGloin
Running back 1: We expect a lot of two-back sets. Undrafted free agent Corey Clement sits just outside on both lists as the fourth back.
- RB1: LeGarrette Blount
- RB2: Donnel Pumphrey
- RB3: Byron Marshall
Running back 2:
- RB1: Ryan Mathews
- RB2: Darren Sproles
- RB3: Wendell Smallwood
Wide receiver (left side): The wide receiver corps will be a competition to pay attention to all preseason.
- WR1: Alshon Jeffery
- WR2: Nelson Agholor
- WR3: Mack Hollins
Wide receiver (right side):
- WR1: Torrey Smith
- WR2: Bryce Treggs
- WR3: Shelton Gibson (He’s off to a slow start, but the hope is he can turn it around)
Wide receiver (slot):
- SWR1: Jordan Matthews
- SWR2: Paul Turner
- SWR3: Marcus Johnson
Tight end:
- TE1: Zach Ertz
- TE2: Brent Celek
- TE3: Trey Burton
