Pumphrey looked shaky in preseason debut

Though Derek Barnett had an impressive debut, the same cannot be said for Donnel Pumprhey. The rookie struggled mightily Thursday night.

The FBS all-time leading rusher could not get anything going on ground. Pumprhey was only to amass five yards on four carries. Not to mention, he also put the ball on the ground as well.

Not only did Pumphrey struggle running the football, he also struggled returning the ball as well. In his first punt return, Pumprhey fielded a ball that he shouldn’t have. The second punt return was even worse. The rookie muffed the punt and was fortunate that it didn’t result in a turnover.

Was the speed of the game too much for Pumphrey? Whatever the case may be, he has a lot of work to do.
