The good problem:

After trading for Buffalo Bills cornerback Ronald Darby, the Eagles now have four promising defenders, all of whom are 23 years old or under.

Darby’s hurt, but once he returns, he’ll be paired (23) alongside 2017 draft picks Sidney Jones (21) and Rasul Douglas (21) and alongside second-year corner Jalen Mills (23). That creates a deep pool of prospects that could grow into a formidable group in the future. With only three starting spots open for the four cornerbacks, the Eagles could try developing one of these players into a safety down the road.

If all four players grow into their potential like Roseman and the Eagles expect, the team will certainly want all four on the field as much as possible.

It seems like the front office wants Jones and Darby as the ideal outside cornerback combination for the future. Jones, a second round pick in 2017, had top-ten talent, but a torn Achilles at his pro day dropped his draft stock significantly. Darby has the speed and proven ability to be a lock-down defender in the NFL. That leaves Mills and Douglas for the slot corner job, and potentially a spot at safety down the road.
