Philadelphia Eagles legend Donovan McNabb shows love to Carson Wentz
A Philadelphia Eagles former franchise quarterback caught up with the current franchise quarterback on Sunday.
It was an eventful Sunday afternoon, to say the least, for the Philadelphia Eagles offense. The Carson Wentz-led unit racked in 34-points as the Eagles easily defeated the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 34-7. Although the defense was pretty much-playing lights out for the entire game, the offense is what looked most impressive this week.
Wentz demanded a 21-0 lead when he threw for three touchdowns in the first quarter. Nick Foles was the last Eagles quarterback to do that in 2013. Not only did Wentz accomplish a career milestone in front of Foles, but he did it in front of the franchise’s passing leader, Donovan McNabb.
A man who needs no introduction, was in attendance this week at Lincoln Financial Field. He got to witness the present and the future of the Eagles offense. For a guy who is infamously critical towards Eagles quarterbacks who are not himself, he seems to be pretty impressed with Wentz thus far.
McNabb’s reaction:

McNabb dishes in his two cents about handling success in Philadelphia before he praises Wentz’ progression this year. Clearly, McNabb has seemed skeptical about Wentz coming into this season, but after seeing him pick apart a strong Cardinals secondary live, he may have been convinced he is the real deal.
After the game, McNabb and his family paid a visit to his old locker room to catch up with the second-year veteran. Wentz introduced himself as he signed autographs for McNabb’s kids. After signing a football for his young fan, the Eagles leader caught up with the legend.

Although McNabb and Wentz kept the conversation quiet enough so the media could not hear, we are sure that he was sending praise to the young quarterback. It is good to see the Eagles legend handing off some of his knowledge to Wentz. Hopefully one day we will see a number eleven banner flying high right next to number five in the Linc.
