Kamu Grugier-Hill may be an unfamiliar name for some of you. Although he is listed as a linebacker on the roster, his true assignments come on the special teams. The 23-year old Honolulu native is thriving in his special team’s role in just his second season in the NFL.
The former sixth-round draft pick found his calling on the Eagles special teams unit after he was waived from the Patriots in his rookie season in 2016. This season, he has picked up 12 total tackles while forcing two fumbles. Ever since special teams ace, Chris Maragos went down, Grugier-Hill has become one of the faces of the Eagles special teams.
We also have to mention how awesome it was that he could fill in for Jake Elliott. When Elliott left the Week 11 game with a concussion, Grugier-Hill filled in for the kicker and has a pretty solid leg on him.
