ITI: Can you give us some better insight on what happened with the Eli Manning and Ben McAdoo fiasco? Are there any real leads for a new coach and G.M.? What are you hearing?

Macysyn: As much as New York Giants co-owner John Mara denies it, the benching of Eli Manning seems to be what ultimately brought down Ben McAdoo’s reign as head coach.

Overall, McAdoo had difficulty with his communications skills. Ironically enough, New York beat writers put up with it for a while, but as the losing continued, he was constantly on the defensive.

As far as GMs (general managers) go, new Cleveland Browns GM John Dorsey was an early favorite for the spot, as is former Carolina Panthers GM Dave Gettleman. Interim general manager Kevin Abrams is a candidate and may have a shot as well.

Gettleman has the advantage of being a former Giants executive. The GM will likely get hired before the coach. Many names are being floated as coaching candidates. We don’t expect interim coach Steve Spagnuolo to get the job. One person who could pop up is Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz.
