LeGarrette Blount views the Patriots as nothing more than enemies
Philadelphia Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount does not have much love for his former team at the moment.
This time last year Philadelphia Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount was heading to the Super Bowl just like this season. Only last year he was going represent the New England Patriots backfield. After winning his second Super Bowl of his career with the Patriots, Blount’s time in New England was up.
The eight-year veteran finished out his second-stint with the Patriots and both parties decided it was time to move on. So Blount hit the free agency market with an open mind and ultimately chose Philadelphia as his destination. According to Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media, Blount felt like the Eagles’ needed him as much as he needed them.
So after spending many weeks during the free agency period in the offseason, Blount signed a one-year deal with the Eagles for two reasons. One is that he obviously saw he could help in the struggling backfield. And two, because of the team’s quarterback and leader, Carson Wentz.
The arrival of Blount worried many fans considering his track record. He had multiple on and off the field incidents that occurred on previous teams not named the Patriots. There was a realistic thought that people had concerning Blount. Everybody thought that Bill Belichick was the only coach who knew how to utilize Blount. Obviously, Blount proved that to be wrong in his single season in Philadelphia.

He ended up being one of the most respected veterans in the Eagles locker room. With much post-season experience to share, Blount will help the Eagles achieve something that they have never done. That is win a Super Bowl. Ironically enough, he has to do it while facing the team that helped him achieve two. So how does Blount go into next week’s game knowing he will play the Patriots?
No love for the Patriots…. For now.
"“Straight enemies,” Blount said. “Aint no friends. Aint no friends. Aint no homies. None of that. We know … We know what we’re going to do. They know what they’re going to do. We both have the same goal in mind. There aren’t any hard feelings, it just is what it is.”“I play for the Eagles now,” Blount said. “I don’t play for the Patriots, anymore. I don’t watch the Patriots. I don’t care about the Patriots. I just focus on what we need to do put us in the best position to win this game. I had a great time there last year, but, last year is last year.”"
The Patriots have been known to be a team that is all about their business. Hence the reason why they have so many Super Bowl victories. So just like them, Blount will be all about his business on Super Bowl Sunday. He made it very clear that he doesn’t care for what they do or have done this year and is just focused on the task at hand, in Philadelphia.

For the Eagles locker room to hear Blount’s fire, they have to be pretty juiced up about it. The fact that he is planning on putting last season completely in the past makes it known that there will be nothing but enemies out on the field. Despite the fact that the Patriots allowed him to reach a major level of success, Blount will not have any of that on his mind come Sunday.
