Caleb Sturgis, K

Caleb Sturgis came onto the Eagles back in 2015 from the Miami Dolphins. He was brought in to fill in for the injured Cody Parkey who ironically enough ended up staying with the Dolphins for awhile at this point in his career. Since Sturgis served three years with the Eagles and was coming off of his best season in 2016, it really seemed like he would stay in Philadelphia for a while.

Unfortunately for Sturgis, it looks like he will be going through the same situation as Cody Parkey as his replacement for 2017 did a stellar job. Jake Elliott may have had some issues along the way, but for the most part, he has been a pretty major part of the Eagles success.

Elliott’s 61-yard walk off back in Week 3 might’ve had Sturgis ready to pack his bags. The struggle of kickers around the league was shocking to see this year. It seems like ever since the PAT distance was moved back, kickers can’t boot it under any sort of pressure. So with teams desperate for a kicker, Sturgis will surely find himself a job next season. It just won’t be in Philadelphia. Elliott is still signed on for next season and is five years younger than Sturgis.
