Byron Maxwell, CB

Another blast from the Chip Kelly past is cornerback, Byron Maxwell. He was coming off of his rookie contract with the Seattle Seahawks. Maxwell was one of the biggest names on the free agency market. Hence why the Eagles coughed up an initial $63 Million contract for his services, only to trade him to the Miami Dolphins the following season.

Maxwell completely duped everybody in Philadelphia. He was one of the members of the Seahawks’ dominant secondary titled the “Legion of Boom”. Unfortunately, the Eagles found out very quickly that Maxwell was nothing more than a product of Seattle’s system.

Not only did Maxwell get toasted immediately at the beginning of the season, but he also showed signs of entirely giving up and being careless. Basically, Maxwell lost his fire the second he signed his biggest contract. At first, it seemed like the Eagles just couldn’t get the best out of him, but the Dolphins quickly found out he honestly wasn’t worth his price tag when they cut him during his second season in Miami.
