Markus Wheaton, WR

We will go straight to the wide receivers for this one. This is crazy. Last season when the Eagles were desperate for pass catchers, one of the notable name upgrades that they could potentially sign was Markus Wheaton. Now, Wheaton is on the Eagles a year later. Only this time he is definitely fighting for a roster spot, rather than being the savior.

Wheaton started his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he’s coming off of a season with the Chicago Bears. In case you are wondering how he did. Put it this way, Wheaton was on a two-year deal with Chicago and ended up getting released after one. In other words, he struggled.

The chances of Wheaton making the Eagles this season is thin. There is a possibility that the Eagles keep him around until Alshon Jeffery is fully healthy and ready to go, but I wouldn’t guarantee it. Wheaton should be here strictly as a veteran camp body.
