Philadelphia Eagles: 4 players who are primed for a comeback season
Jason Peters, LT
Hey, remember this guy? Jason Peters? You know, the All-Pro left tackle who is heading into his 15th season in the NFL. Looking at Peters, it doesn’t feel like he has regressed in any shape or form as he hits the back end of his playing career. Before going down with a torn ACL, and MCL in 2017, Peters was on his way to picking up his tenth Pro Bowl honors.
Many Eagles fans expected Peters to be elsewhere in 2017. The veteran lineman currently carries a hefty cap hit of over $10 million according to Spotrac. Considering his age, and the Eagles current cap struggles, it was quite evident that Peters could realistically find himself set free from Philadelphia so the team could save some cash. But the reputable organization just couldn’t let The Bodyguard go. He had to stay in Philly and finish his business.
Now, Peters returns to the field with a massive chip on his shoulder. He may get a ring for last season, but the All-Pro lineman struggled with sitting back and watching it happen without him. He made it very clear that this injury will have him back better than ever during Super Bowl media week a few months back. And because of the fire in his eyes and desire to return better than ever, the Eagles decided to keep their guy here for at least one more season.
