5 Philadelphia Eagles that are key to a victory against the Atlanta Falcons
Zach Ertz, TE
Since we can assume the defensive side of the ball will continue to build on what they did last season, we can shift back to the big question mark that is the offense. Against the Falcons, the Eagles aren’t going to have many weapons in the passing game. Alshon Jeffery and Mack Hollins are both ruled out already. That leaves the Eagles with Mike Wallace and Nelson Agholor as the only proven veteran receivers that can make some plays.
While the Falcons may focus on those two on the outside, they may want to shift their attention to the dynamic duo that is Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert. Even without Goedert, Zach Ertz is a major threat to any defense playing against the Eagles. There’s a reason why Ertz has led the Eagles offense in receiving yards in past years. He really does catch everything.
In the preseason dress rehearsal game against the Browns, the Eagles offense looked rough. One player who stood out amongst everyone was Ertz. When Foles looked clueless at times, he just threw the ball to Ertz and watched his tight end do the rest. If anyone owns Ertz stock in fantasy football, he’s your guy on Thursday. We can expect another big start to a glorious season for Ertz.
