Ronald Darby, CB

How about that performance last week by Ronald Darby? We had high expectations for his second year on the Eagles, and he undoubtedly exceeded them by giving Julio Jones a tough time last Thursday. Darby didn’t shadow Jones last week, but it was quite evident that the Falcons were uncomfortable throwing in Darby’s direction for the most part.

We know that Darby has the skillset to be a top cornerback in this league. Now, we need to find out if he can be consistent or not. Last year, Darby was very shaky at times, but he always came up clutch at the right moments. This year, we are expecting to see him make a lot more big plays on a consistent basis, and this week offers him a tough challenge.

The Buccaneers had a field day with the Saints secondary last Sunday. 418-yards and four touchdowns were given in the air, and their quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was spreading the wealth to his receivers. Darby will face a mix of talents on Sunday, and it will be interesting to see how well he adjusts throughout the game.
